Spirulina is a micro-alga which has been consumed worldwide for centuries as a nutritional supplement due to its richness in nutrients. We set ourselves the objective of evaluating the impact of consuming this micro-alga on certain biochemical parameters. In this study, rabbits of Oryctolagus cuniculus species were used. Different doses of spirulina were administered intraperitoneally to the rabbits while the control lot received physiological water. Analyses were performed on days D0, D7, D14 and D21.

Ubidercarenone Decelerates the Manifestation of Experimental Cerebral Malaria in C57BL/6J Mice by ameliorating the Host Inflammatory Response

James N. Nyariki1*, Lucy Ochola2, David O.Bosire1, Alfred O. Isaac3

Cerebral Malaria (CM), a highly lethal form of severe malaria is known to cause inflammation that exacerbates pathology in the brain predominantly due to inflammatory immune response as a result of Plasmodium falciparum infection. There is limited progress in the development of new approaches for the treatment of CM. Therefore, in this study we investigated whether oral Ubidercarenone (Ubn) can re

The Impact of Temperature Variability on Food Security of Cereals in Morocco: An Econometric Approach by VECM

Nabila Hagouch1

The objective of this study is to determine the influence of temperature variability and some variables on the food security model of cereals in Morocco. Many variables can play a role in this model. The variables selected for analysis were temperature variation, grain land area, grain imports, fertilizer consumption, and energy consumption. These five independent variables were tested to determin

Parallel Evolution in the βA Globin Gene of Black Kite, Bar-Headed Goose and Graylag Goose: Deciphering Hemoglobin Adaptation to High Altitude Hypoxia Using Birds as Models

Parallel evolution involving historically independent amino acid substitutions in hemoglobin (Hb) is expected among closely related lineages; however, such studies in distantly related species are limited especially from the structural point of view. Here we reported structural and phylogenetic based parallel amino acid substitutions in the βA globin gene of the Black kite (BK), Bar-headed goose (
