Firm efficiency and productivity analyses are important considerations in measuring performance of a farm business. Despite its potentials, the level of catfish production has failed to meet domestic demand in Nigeria. This study analyzes the determinants and returns to scale in catfish production among smallholders in Ekeremor, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Primary data collected via random sampling were evaluated using descriptive statistics, regression and elasticity of production analysis.

Plant-based antimicrobial compounds could be used to replace some sub-therapeutic antibiotic growth promoters. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of phytogenic feed additives as potential natural growth promoters, on reproductive performance in Kabir chicken. The study consisted 144 Cameroon Kabirroosters (24) and hens (120), fed diets containing graded levels of garlic, g
The study was undertaken to produce a palm bunch ash containing low concentration of potassium and to determine its effects on layer performance. Empty palm bunches were collected from a palm oil mill, cleaned, dried, and ashed. Ash was further soaked and filtered to obtain a low potassium palm bunch ash. Ash was included in the layer diets at 0.0kg (T1 control), 0.10kg (T2), 0.15kg (T3) and 0.20k
Fisheries resources continue to decline globally and in Malawi amidst ever increasing human population. This study was conducted to assess catch composi+tion, species composition and catch per unit effort (CPUE) among commercial fishers. Secondary catch data (2000 to 2021) obtained from Department of Fisheries was used. Trend of fish species composition over the 21-year period was initially domina
Beekeeping is a sustainable form of agriculture that supplements rural income and nutrition requirements; however, gross underutilization and inadequate exploitation of bee keeping potentials persists. Productivity analysis is an important consideration in measuring firm efficiency or performance. This study therefore estimates profitability and honey productivity among local beekeepers in Sanga,
